Hi Jim,
can you post a photo of your elata? or email a few photos of it and I'll post them.
I leave the leaves on the elata without cutting them since I want the thatched trunk look.....good for protection too......keeps the trunk straighter too with the snow loads.
Did you notice your 'gloriosa' to the right of the Tall Tenn Yucca? Yours is getting large too. Yours still has not bloomed either!....and it's got 2' of trunk.
