Yes, no problem Ryan.
For a cactus bed I used pure coarse sand topped with 1" of pea stone gravel... The sand should be pretty thick, i.e. over 2 feet, and should slope to the south (mine slopes to the Northwest, but only because it is the sunniest location on the property). Ideally for best growth and blooms cacti need 5-6+ hours of direct sun per day...
Soil chocie varies, and if you do a google search you can read on what other people use for their cacti! I use sand since I feel it's the wet not the cold that kills most cacti, and I figure coarse sand drains the best!
