I planted 2 Windmill Palms in containers this year and 1 banana (Chiquita) in a pot and wonder just what this cold, cloudy, rainy weather that we're having in New England this year will do to their future.
The Banana and one Windmill will be brought indoors this winter (probably October for the Banana and December for the Windmill) but I have a 4 year old Windmill in a 2'x2'x2' planter that I will be leaving outside all year. The smaller Windmill looks great but the bigger one is very scraggy. I don't think it got enough light at the nursery (Ty Ty in Georgia).
My question is will the lack of sun and heat this year prove fatal to a Windmill left to a New Hampshire winter? Also just what are the light requirements for tropicals brought indoors for the winter?
