I would try planting up against a south or west wall, but this is very valuble space.
I just got 3 large tree form Myrtles this year and only the Natchez has really started growing good, 2' of growth so far. It's in the best spot I have though SW corner of house sun all day. The 2 tuscarora have only grown about 6-8" with west sun if it ever comes out. They where in 30 gallon pots with leaves already. These are my first ones and kinda waiting to see what happens.
I say give them a go Dennis and let us know.
