(For english-speakers, what follows are some instructions for finding Washingtonia filiferas around Palm Springs - english translation is below)
Un des meilleurs endroits de trouver ce palmier (en nature) est à Palm Springs en Californie. Juste au sud de la ville, il y a une réserve indienne (Agua Caliente Indian Reservation), ouvert au publique, avec des canyons ou on peut trouver beaucoup de Washingtonia filifera. On les appelle les INDIAN CANYONS (en générale) mais les canyons que vous vouliez voir spécifiquement sont, PALM CANYON et ANDREAS CANYON.
De Palm Springs, on prend SOUTH CANYON DRIVE vers la réserve. À l'entrée de la réserve, il y a un tarif de $8 (ces indiens ne sont pas stupides!). Pour trouver PALM CANYON, suivez les signes à la TRADING POST, et juste derrière se trouve PALM CANYON. Voici une carte de la sud de Palm Springs:

Le numéro de téléphone de la réserve indienne (comme composé de Palm Springs) est 3236018. Je pense que les canyons sont fermés un jour de la semaine donc il faut appeler en avance ou demander à votre hôtel.

Translation: One of the best places for seeing this palm (in nature) is Palm springs, California. Just south of town, there is an indian reservation (Agua Caliente Indian Reservation), open to the public, with canyons where one can find many Washingtonia filiferas.
