Today I put Jim's 12 Songs of Christmas CD in my car along with a Perry Como Christmas CD and one by Eddy Arnold. Those seem to have risen to the top of my list over the years. Jim is at the very top, of course. I'll be trying to listen to them from now until Christmas. Hope all of Jim's fans have a great December.

This morning, on our local radio station, here in Eastern Canada, the morning host dedicated an hour of just Christmas music.
About half way, listening to garden variety hits from artists like Andy Williams, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby,(All very good by the way) the host played 'An Old Christmas card' by Jim Reeves. For me, it was as if the world stopped on its axes as I was spell bound once again by this song. Could not believe how Jim stood apart from some of the best in the business. I will say now as I have posted here before, that Jim's version only gets better as the years go by. The entire 12 Songs of Christmas CD by Jim Reeves is a standard that has never been equaled by any artist in my opinion.
Even after the many years since we lost Jim, he still is able to project hope and dignity for us all, in this sometimes troubled world we now live in. Jim's voice and manner says it all !!
You are so right Gary in declaring Jim's 12 Songs of Christmas the best of the best. My CD of choice every year at this time.....

I so agree. Not a year goes by when I don't play it (several times). Modern offerings just don't compare; except of course for the Voicemasters production with the extra tracks.
