Dear Terry, Thank you for your lovely post on the 45th anniversary of Jim Reeves' passing. It was very uplifting. You have always made such a wonderful contribution to this board. Yes, indeed, I insist that every fan everywhere in the world march in lockstep with me and agree with me on every point. That's why I have demanded everybody agree with me about the new Sony release, their top 5 favorite songs, Eddy Arnold recording "Make the World Go Away," the stars left out of the Country Music Hall of Fame, a compilation of Jim's uptempo numbers, compilation releases in general, Gordon Stoker's critical comments of Jim, Mary's final resting place, "The Essential Jim Reeves," Jim soundalikes, what Mr. Reeves would be doing if he were still alive, Eddy Arnold, Jim's supposed stopover in Dyersburg, the cause of the plane crash, Deborah Allen's "duets" with Jim, and today's Grand Ole Opry. Oh wait a minute. NO I HAVEN'T. Each of the above topics -- and a lot more -- are discussed on the 6 pages that comprise this Fan Forum, and a wide variety of views have been expressed, many of which I do not personally agree with. For instance, I will leave up your post, despite its bizarre accusations which are provably wrong, and regardless of the fact that I cannot fathom your motivation for making such statements on a public forum. I will even support your decision that this was your last post. The banner stating that the book would be out "soon" was NOT on my site "years ago" -- contrary to your false allegation, desire to confuse the fans and undermine their confidence in the author. That word, and a link to the new website, was added November 24th. I suppose "soon" is a relative word. But after ten years of waiting, I think a matter of mere months qualifies as "soon." Do you think that if we had a "DEFINITE" date when the book would be finished we would withhold that information from the fans? We could have kept the book a secret until it was completed, but that would have deprived people of the opportunity to provide input, ideas, information, etc. as they have so generously done over the years. In this way, Jim's fans have been able to shape, to a large extent, how the research on Mr. Reeves' life has proceeded. -- JULIE
