Larry you are correct about practically everyone owning more than one watch. I'm the same way. I've owned more than I care to remember. The reason I asked is if you ever noticed on Jim's old LPs that Jim was wearing that exact same gold looking watch. I was just assuming that Jim owned a particular kind of watch, and investing too much money in a watch. It has been said on this fan forum before that Jim and Mary pretty much hung on to everything they ever owned. Maybe because Jim grew up so poor he just couldn't bear to part with any of his possessions. I sure would've never thought that Jim Reeves not spending $5000 dollars on a diamond ring. Why so much for a ring? I've always assumed Jim and Mary were penny misers. And the severe impact reducing the diamonds to dust?? I'll have to admit, once I get my copy of your book, I'm going to read the chapter about the accident first. I'm an aviation enthusiast, have flown in the past, and a current subscriber to Plane & Pilot magazine. I also receive daily newsletters via email in regards to general aviation. I won't hide the fact, that although tragic, Jim's accident fascinates me and am looking forward to reading what you've uncovered up thru the years about the crash. I'm sure it will be an interesting chapter from your book.
