I agree Dennis, I was born the year Jim died and became a fan of Jim's in 1976 (aged 12)after purchasing "The Best of Jim Reeves Vol 1" as a present to my mother! I had never liked the current 'pop' music of that time or my fathers taste in opra music. Once I was hooked on Jim I saved every bit of pocket money and worked for every penny I could get so as to purchase every album or tape available of Jim. I too was worried that maybe Jim's records may become rare. Living in the same town as David Bussey I used to cycle round to his house to pick up posters, pictures, records, books or other articles from him during the late seventies. I also write to Mary care of Nashville, Tennessee (As I did not know the full Madison address at that time) and was amazed to receive a letter back from her and that she had taken the time to write back to a twelve year old boy! I was also given permission by my father to telephone Jim Reeves Enterprises and surprised to be speaking to Joyce. Great Memories! I am thrilled that now forty four years after Jim died we are still able to enjoy 'new' recordings of Jim. 'Shepherd of Love' is first class and follows on the great quality of the previous Voicemasters recordings that surely every one of Jim's fans should have. I need not have worried too much back then although it is so sad that RCA still do nothing but re-releasing Jim's old standards and nothing new. Well done Voicemasters and Larry. Please keep up the great work. Robert. --Previous Message-- : After the horror of losing Jim on July 31st : 1964 had started to sink in, I and other : people began to fear the possibility that : Jim's music may cease to be available.
