I grew up listening to that album and no Christmas would be the same without it! I lucked up and got a great quality sounding disc....seems I read that years back RCA issued the CD with poor sound quality. Mine was released by Heartland Music / BMG Special Products, 1997. H004-28, TCD-807, U.S.A. I wonder which release has good sound quality? The sound on the Bear Family set is excellent, but I believe the sound was mastered a bit too fast. The LP sound sounds more "right" to my ears. Just, looked the CD up on amazon.co.uk. It seems they don't have it in stock. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new Voicemasters release. I'm sure it will be a delight. Sincerely Even Bjerkelien, Norway  Post a Response

It's probably the same one you have Bob. It's listed as BMA dated 1988.Excellent quality. On the back it says it was remastered from a previous release - LSP-2758. Digitally Re-mastered using the Neve digital console, by Randy Kling, Nashville TN. Usually the first and most played CD played this time of year in our home. You're right Alan, Christmas would NOT be the same without it. Just ordered the new CD. I know we probibly won't receive it in time for Christmas, but I can't think of a better way to start the new year.
