Victor/RCA Victor Records Founded 107 yrs Ago Today - He'll Have to Go #3 All Time for RCA In CM Posted by Don Streeter on July 10, 2007, 9:17 pm 69.213.250.216 To All, FYI, on Bucks Braun's show today on the I's Have It, he celebrated the 107th anniversary of the founding of the Victor Talking Machine/Record Co which later was purchased by Radio Corporation of America - RCA, with his Trifecta daily feature where he plays 3 songs related to each other. He played what he said was a Nipper Trifecta - the 3 longest charting Country Records (Billboard Country Charts) issued by RCA Victor, #1 was I'm Movin On by Hank Snow, # 2 was I'll Hold You In My Arms (Till I Can Hold You In My Heart) by Eddy Arnold both of which were #1 21 weeks, and Jim was #3 with He'll Have To Go which was #1 for 14 weeks and sold over 3 million in the US and 4 Million world wide. Hank Locklin also had a 14 week RCA Record at #1 - Please Help Me I'm Fallin' on the Country charts but Jim's came first and sold more, so that would to me be the tie braker. So there is another thing I never thought about before that our radio friend thought of today. Only three weeks to the tribute show, get your requests ready, it will be the audience's show this year. It could have been down this morning though I didn't hear any one mention it. A play should pop up and you hit the play button and it should start playing. Maureen Heatslip listened all the way in Scotland last year, and no interuptions, but Joyce Jackson had dial up and couldn't get it at all last year. Regards, Don  Post a Response

I too have dialup so think that is why. I can't see any of the videos on youTube either, they will play for 3 seconds and then quit saying "buffering". It is frustrating. If you have installed a popup-blocker, turn it off--try again.'' That's what I did and the page reconfigured. I then clicked on the 365 icon and there it was, clear as a bell. I have Internet high speed connection thru Aliant here in Novs Scotia Canada. I don't know if this helps any Doris, but I do think that high speed connection rather than dial up is required to make this connection. But then, I am not 100% sure on this. Maybe it's worth checking out with your local provider. Thanks Steve for the link. I might also add that I am able to access Radio Freemantle, from Perth, Australia. Creative Country , co-hosted by a contributor to the Jim Reeves forum, Geoff Simons. A superb program that I listen to every week. This station always features a lot of air time to Jim Reeves. Ian Mills and I are stoked that our programme can be heard all around the world. Angela and Lori Duncan (Johnny Duncan's daughters) listened in Stephenville, Texas when we did a tribute program for their Dad, upon hearing of his untimely death. Every year, on the Thursday nearest to July 31, we do a special tribute program for Jim; and, of course, we also play his music right throughout the year. The website is www.radiofremantle.com. Our program "Creative Country" is broadcast every Thursday from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Western Australian time: 7 hours ahead of the U.K. and ranging from 12 to 15 hours ahead of the U.S.A. going from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast. For example, Texas time is 14 hours behind Western Australian time (9:00 p.m. Thursday West Aust. time is 7:00 p.m. Thursday Texas time).
