New CD from CBuJ Posted by Bob Robyn on June 29, 2007, 11:53 am 24.152.207.185 I got on to the "E Music" site and was able to listen to cuts from this CD. It appears that at least some, if not all, of it are actually "new" performances. (However there are no new songs. i.e. Jim singing "Cold, Cold Heart" or something.)I have not known of any Louissiana Hayride cuts out there. There is some chatter that I have not heard. There are two versions of "Yonder Comes a Sucker", one from '55 and the other from '58. The '55 version seemed to have a lot of background noise. This is an inexpensive CD and it comes out next month. I am not recommending it or NOT recommending it. For the most part, these are NOT Hayride recordings...they are songs from armed forces radio shows and the company didn't even bother to clean them up. The sound clip labelled "Untitled" is an abomination, it is so filled with background noise. If you would like to discover just how good the VoiceMasters CDs are by comparison, listen to the song "Each Time You Leave" on the "emusic" site you recommended. Then go to the link below and click on the same song from VoiceMasters (as featured on the latest CD, "I've Forgotten You"). We used the SAME VOCAL TRACK for "Each Time You Leave" when we did our overdub, except that we restored the audio first and then proceeded with studio quality new instrumentation. It's an insult to Jim that some people actually believe that they would accept this trash as something that they would part with their hard earned cash for. Were Jim still alive i do not think that he would be too pleased with this offering of his work being the perfectionist that he was. The best recommendation i could offer to anyone contemplating purchasing a copy is DON'T. The VM recordings kick this set of recordings well into the long grass. John.  Post a Response
