What's in a name Posted by Keith Kent on 23/5/2007, 12:23 pm 84.64.243.161 Hi everyone, first time writer from England. Over here at the moment is The Chelsea Flower Show. This is where many plant breeders show off their new plants along with other events. This has set me thinking. Are there any plant breeders on our forum that would possibly name a plant after Jim. I'm thinking perhaps of a red rose with lovely velvet petals.Not only great publicity but more important helps perpetuate the name of Jim.Until the next time, keith.  Post a Response

It would be interesting to know the process needed to make it happen. Just out of interest, any more flowers that would suit Jim?. Certainly roses spring to mind with numerous mentions in his songs. We have a questionaire Jim filled out one time in which he said a rose was his favorite flower, so this seems to be very apt, especially considering his songs about the flower! I hope someone with a green thumb can make this happen. Maybe it could be named "Gentleman Jim Reeves" or something like that. I'm sure we'd like to order it. -- Julie  Post a Response
