Re: Ken Burns Country Music Documentary
I have no intention of wasting my time watching the Ken Burns documentary so I'll rely on somebody else to tell me if Jim is even mentioned. Burns' secretary told me personally I would be pleased, and I already told you of the letter I received from his personal assistant. But they seem to have gone to great lengths to AVOID mentioning Jim, or even including him in their CD set. Who has a better voice than Jim Reeves? Who was a bigger success internationally in country music than Jim Reeves at his time? Who is the only artist in the history of recorded music to have 34 songs hit the charts after his death? We all know the answer to that. We also know Michael Streissguth was a "consultant" to Burns for several years so it's not difficult to suspect why Jim did not receive the major focus that he deserved.
