Also remember, as I reported in my book, that Jim and the Blue Boys were in Dallas playing a club date the night before the President was murdered, that Jim remained behind for awhile and did not travel to the next stop with his band right away, yet somehow found a way to get out of Dallas despite the airport being closed. Also noteworthy is that the club they played -- Dewey Groom's Longhorn -- had a financial tie to Jack Ruby, the killer of Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin. And if you read my book you know that Jim told people the night of the assassination, when Oswald's picture appeared on TV, that he could never forget that face -- that he was sure that Oswald had come to his dances. Had Jim seen him with Ruby the night before the tragedy?
The big question is WHY records would have been destroyed after my FOIA request and WHY was I the recipient of a phone call from a supposed former member of the U.S. intelligence community shortly before the publication of my book, warning me not to probe too deeply into Jim's crash? Or WHY did two FBI agents go to Barbra Manuel's home (widow of Jim's piano player, Dean Manuel, who was killed with him) only a few days after the crash, and ask her about any possible ties between Dean and members of organized crime -- specifically Jimmy Hoffa. (Details in my book, "Jim Reeves: His Untold Story"). And WHY was there a frantic search for a brief case that Jim had been carrying on his trip to Arkansas, and WHY did he meet with a man there who was out on bail for murdering a husband and wife in cold blood by shooting them to death and then trying to burn their bodies? (I interviewed the policeman who arrested the accused murderer, who was tried three times for the two crimes and got off on a hung jury).
And why was the young lady who supervised the little airport at Batesville, AR where Jim had flown, run off a mountain road shortly after Jim's death, in what her family still insists was a hit-and-run accident in which they believe she was murdered? She was in a position to see anyone who might have been around Jim's plane before it took off for the return flight to Nashville.
Regardless of what -- if anything -- is released on Jim Reeves as part of Trump's supposed decision to unseal records pertaining to the death of John Kennedy (and you never know with Trump; he changes his mind constantly) -- it is a certainly that some information is lost forever.
