I guess I'm biased because when my book on Jim came out, Dallas Wayne talked about it every day for at least a month. He read every page and then on his show would describe what he read. I could not have paid for free publicity like that, and the truth is I have never had any contact with the man, either directly or indirectly! He is just that big of a fan of Jim's that he wanted to share not only Reeves's music with his listeners, but also details of his life as gleaned from my book.
I seldom listen to over-the-air radio due to the restricted playlists that are programmed by the giant record labels in collusion with mega corporations who own thousands of radio stations and thereby control what Americans hear. The FCC was reorganized and did away with limits that had protected freedom of the airwaves since the 1930s. When that happened, a handful of powerful people snatched up U.S. radio stations and turned them into propaganda outlets for their political views and also made deals with the major labels. (That used to be called "payola" and there was a big scandal about it years ago, but as you've noticed, ethics everywhere have declined).
Foreign stations, however, are much better at giving the listeners what they really want to hear. There is MUCH more diversity and even culture on foreign radio. But not in America, sad to say.
