Yes, I agree that Anita Kerr's group did have a very unique sound and complimented Jim's recordings. It's interesting to note that they backed Elvis on only one of his recordings, although the group never actually recorded with him. In 1965, Elvis' recording of "Tomorrow Night", originally recorded at Sun Records but never before released, appeared on an album called "Elvis For Everyone!". This LP was released to commemorate Elvis' 10th anniversary with RCA. This recording had very sparse intrumentation, and to update the sound, Chet Atkins overdubbed Anita's group and some of the big Nashville session players of the day to fill out the recording. I believe Chet played on the recording as well.
