Larry, you are so right, Billy and Jim were very good friends and yes, he did record on Jim's label Shannon Records. In fact, he was the first artist on the label and I remember so well when he chose to record "Is It Really Over", a song written by Jim. Jim asked me to take Billy into the living room and teach him the song. I did just that! Of course as you also said, "what else is new"? Jim never gets the credit he so deserves for opening up doors for those who are trying to break into the business; however, Billy never forgot how much Jim helped him and many times over the years we reminisced about Jim and how he helped Billy in his career. He loved and respected Jim as a friend and an artist and he was always so nice to me. He called me Miss Joyce.
Billy's passing will leave a big void in the industry as he was respected by everyone and always attended about every various event that was held in and around Nashville. I will also miss you my friend.
Joyce
