Even, glad you enjoyed the DVD. It represents a lot of hard work and an investment of a considerable sum of money to bring this project to the marketplace.
With regard to your criticisms of the Oslo footage, I simply cannot and will not defend that. I was surprised to see your post and that DVDs had been sent out already (from Europe, NOT by us). The reason being, I understand the video footage of Oslo will be replaced before future DVDs are shipped. So fans can be assured of the best possible quality.
With regard to the footage of Jim singing at the airport lounge upon his arrival in the Netherlands, you will note that on the "Anthology" DVD Jim sounds like Jim instead of Mickey Mouse. You'll recall that when Bear released this on that overpriced ($179) boxed set of theirs, they inexplicably failed to correct the pitch on Jim's voice. It was ridiculous. But VoiceMasters has taken care of that for you (indeed, VM did the sound track for this DVD), so on "Anthology," fans get to hear Jim be Jim! It's a fun clip to view.
Gaylord claims to own the T. Tommy footage (a debatable assertion on their part), but in any event, Gaylord is notoriously difficult to work with. In my opinion, they couldn't care less about country music or the important legacies of the various artists. I think they are greedy, short-sighted, elitist, and reprehensible in not making historic footage of the stars available to the fans. They are sitting on a goldmine and they are too myopic to realize it. You may recall they even tried to dump the Grand Ole Opry and change the format of the flagship station, WSM, to an all-sports format. Only after they were publicly humiliated by an angry outcry from the fans did Gaylord relent and keep WSM intact. That's their mindset.
