Jim and Hank Snow

Hi everyone. I thought I had read a while back that Jim, Hank Snow, and perhaps other artists got caught up in a scam that was playing out in Nashville in the early 60's. Trying to be helpful with their time and/or money some underhanded person took advantage of them. Is this true ?? Can anyone fill me in on the story or details ? Thanks so much, Dennis.
