To commemorate the sad 45th anniversary of Jim Reeves' passing this Friday, July 31st, I have posted a little tribute to him on the opening page of this site, including an audio clip.
This consists of an mp3 of an UNRELEASED overdub of a rare song that Jim never got around to recording at RCA. It is courtesy of and copyright 2009 by VoiceMasters, LLC, all rights reserved. VM is the indie label that has brought us so much new music on Jim.
But be aware that this clip will only be online a few days!
If you want to really hear how rich Jim's voice sounds, (VoiceMasters, as usual, did a wonderful job of restoring the audio such that the clarity is superb), you need to burn the mp3 to a CD and listen to it on your home stereo, or at least plug some speakers into your computer if you play it that way.
I think you'll agree the new instrumentation is very pretty. We hope you enjoy it! -- JULIE
