Hi Everyone, I'm new to the fan forum. As July 31st comes around again I found myself surfing the web to see if there would be any rememberance and or recognition of Gentleman Jim; the musical innovator, the man, the husband, the entertainer. I was happy to find this fan forum website and have really enjoyed reading the varies postings. It was in the mid 60's that I found my mothers copy of "The Jim Reeves Way" and since then have loved every record that became available. In the mid 80's I wrote a letter to Jim Reeves Enterprises to express my thanks to the work they were doing. To my surprise, a few weeks later,I received a letter from Mary thanking me for my kind words; I still have that letter. I have a few questions that perhaps other fans could answer for me. We all know that Dean lost his life with Jim in that July crash...but what was his musical background before he met Jim. Where was he born, did he come from a musical family, did he play other instruments besides the piano. When did he marry Barbara and did they have any children. Did Jim and Dean have a solely business friendship or were they closed friends away from work. And did Leo Jackson ever mention how it was to be with Dean on those countless hours riding that tour bus. Again, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of the fan forum. Best wishes Dennis.
