John,

On the recording "I'm Gettin' Better".
I think it's beautiful and quite unique in the Reeves catalogue (both in lyrics, melody and performance.)
Jim wrote it himself and it has it's own feeling of sadness and regret.

I would even say it's one of Jim's best self penned songs.

I first heard this song on the album "The Best of Jim Reeves" (1964) (the first LP of his I heard.)

I still think it's beautiful.
