You're right!
Even the song "Billy Bayou" (1958) contain a "saga " story teller (in comic form this time). "Billy Bayou" was more akin to "Mexican Joe" (1953)while "Partners" was a serious and tragic song, as many songs in "Tall tales" album (1960).
