I don't often recommend other singers who cover Jim Reeves material, but I want to share something with Fan Forum visitors that I think is worthy of your viewing. Many of you probably have heard of Tony Wall, who lives in England, and has been a Reeves fan for a long time. What most people probably don't know is just how much work behind the scenes Tony has done over the years on behalf of fans. For instance, he was the impetus behind the "Gentleman Jim" video biography on Jim's life, and even traveled over to the U.S. during its filming. He also has maintained close contacts with record industry people over in Europe who have sought his advice on various releases pertaining to Jim. Tony has shared freely with other fans over the years, unlike some of the obsessive collectors who grab hold of every rare item they can pertaining to Jim Reeves and then lock it up.
Anyway, the reason for this post is somebody told me of a youtube video of Tony Wall singing some of Jim's songs in a club in England. I swear Tony doesn't know I'm even posting this link and in fact, he isn't the one who told me about it.
I just thought he did such a nice job singing some of Jim's material he deserves some accolades. You'll notice the audience sang along with him on "I Love You Because" and "He'll Have To Go."
GREAT JOB TONY!!!
