Just wanted to share my evening last night with you all. Mel was here in Colorado Springs doing a concert whereby the benefits went to the Shriners. I had been in touch with him prior to his coming here and we had arranged for me to meet with him which I did. I met with him on his bus at the Pikes Peak Center where the concert was to take place and we had such a good visit. It was like old home week for me and we did talk about Jim and he did not know about Leo until I told him and also he has a Christmas CD out which is called SNOWFLAKE and yes, it's the same song as recorded many years ago. Mel did it on the show and he did a wonderful job. Told me later that he learned it from Jim's recording. Mel is realy one of the good guys and also one of the older entertainers that still works the road all the time. He got me a ticket to the show and again it was wonderful. We visited again on his bus after the show was over. I let him read his part of the book I have written and he liked it and even edited a couple of things I had wrong in it. We had a good laugh about that. All in all it was a fun evening and one that I needed. If you ever get a chance to see one of his concerts, do so as you will truly be entertained. His band The Statesiders is one of the best.
Hope you don't mind me sharing my fun evening with you all, but Mel and I have been friends for 51 years plus and he was also a friend of Jim's.
