Thank you for the warm welcome! You are very kind. Well, my impression of the grounds was not disappointing. However, I was rather overcome just being there and am still trying to get past a lot of grief over learning about the nature of his death, no children and Mary having to deal with so much. Anyway, the hedges were trimmed nicely but they appeared to be old hedges since foliage appeared more on the top than all over and to the ground. You know, like they went a while without trimming and grew too much stem, then were trimmed again. The sidewalk up to the momument is cracked and sunken a bit in places and I was shocked to see it. I guess I shouldn't have been when you consider it's been there more than 44 yrs now and the ground shifts and weathers. The monument was great though and there were recent flower wreaths placed, one with a wedding picture attached, in a slipcover. The fencing had full vines and were not in full bloom yet but I know they must be beautiful when it's warm weather. I'll go back soon and see it again. I am currently continuing to learn more from various sources of information. I'm anxious for Larry's book to come out as well. Not sure if I gave you what you wanted but hope this helps. By the way, I have been to Ontario twice in recent years to visit friends in Port Coburne and in Mipising. (not sure of my spelling). Hope to go there too again!
Denise
