For Doris Gath and Mike Slater. I told Mike I'd let him know when I went to Carthage. Just wanted to say, I was at Jim Reeves's memorial today. I appreciated being able to go, not far away. It won't be long and nicer weather will allow some maintenance of the grounds. Wish I was even closer for that. I will return. Just a question about the quote on the monument, if someone knows. Did Jim say that quote? Sorry for such ignorance, but I'm learning. Also, I watched Kimberly Jim yesterday. It was good and I was excited to see Jim talking and acting. I don't remember any TV shows with him on there so it was nice to listen AND get to watch him. Mrs. Gath, I don't know if you will read this comment, but, just wanted you to know I read these messages on this website and I appreciate your sharing the part of your life you spent with Jim and Mary Reeves through your pictures and messages here.I thought a lot about sending this message and finally got the courage to send one to you. It's been a dream of mine to meet some celebrity I've admired. To know you knew them well is very exciting to me. I live here in Texas and my aunt loved Jim very much. I found out lately, through my other aunt, she had all his recordings that came out in LP records. It's not "...really over" you know. It's almost about to begin with all of us who know them through all these experiences we've each had, either in person or through others and information. I believe we will know them when we see them again. "I won't forget" Jim and Mary.
