Shepherd of Love
I received the new CD recently and my first reaction was this is a modern flair on the Nashville Sound. It really updates that great classic sound to a “modern time.”
These are classic songs that speak about what is going in the world today ...wither lost love or war.
We all expect to hear horns on “Distant Drums” but it sounds just as great with out them. “Lonesome Waltz” shows a very simple Jim, just the bare bones but with a bluegrass tinge.
I love Christmas songs year round and with a classic like “Rudolph” one can’t go wrong.
My favorite tune here is “I Know One”. My only complaint is the string section needs to be bigger than it is. A Phil Spector Wall of Sound… I just like big string sections and it sounds great here.
“He Will” show Jim can still stand with Secular Music Group and it is radio friendly. The back up vocalist are stunning along with Jim as well.
It’s nice to hear the big hits given a fresh new sound including “He’ll Have to Go”.
Another great job by Larry and Voicemaster. One can only wonder is on the horizon.
