One of the greatest! As a little child I cut my teeth on his early music. He and Red Foley were the early pioneers of smooth, melodious singing in Country music; and then, of course, came Jim: carrying it to its ultimate level of international acceptance and appreciation. Eddy's record still stands as one of the most successful and long lasting in any genre of music.
With deepest sympathy to Jo-Ann, Ritchie and the rest of the family. He will be sadly missed.
Regards,
Geoff

: Nashville radio station WSM announced this
: morning that Eddy Arnold had passed away
: this morning. He would have been 90 on the
: 15th of this month. I had the great fortune
: of being able to speak to him and Sally a
: few times when I would see them at the local
: Cracker Barrel. He was always easy to
: approach and he and his wife were classy
: people. He spoke very highy of Jim Reeves.
: The radio said that he passed away in the
: rehabilitation center he was in recovering
: from his hip surgery. We have lost another
: truly great star.
