A very sad week indeed, for Country music fans, First Leo and now Eddy Arnold, probably my second favorite country singer from the days of the Nashville sound, next to Jim. It's ironic that Eddy passed away so soon after losing his wife. It makes me think of Johnny Cash and June Carter, whose deaths were not very far apart. A sad time for those of us who loved the good old days of classic country music.

: Just read about Eddy's death on the
: internet. That nashville sound is forever
: gone now. The article said Eddy was a
: pioneer regarding the Nashville Sound era.
: I have to disagree, since I strongly support
: Jim Reeves as being the founding father of
: the Nashville Sound. Eddy and Patsy Cline
: sort of followed in Jim's footsteps. They
: were all fabulous singers though.

: Another Huge loss in classic country music.
: Jim and Eddy were very much alike in so many
: ways. Both chosing to veer into the new
: "Nashville Sound" that changed the
: sound of country music for many. Everytime I
: have heard him sing or seen Eddy on TV, I
: think of those pictures of Eddy in that
: white cap at Jim's plane crash site.
:
: It so tragic that Eddy recently lost his
: wife in March and then fell and injured his
: hip.
:
: Leo is being put to rest today, and we lose
: Eddy Arnold...it is a sad day in the world
: of music that I cherish.
:
: Rest In Peace Mr. Arnold, you have been
: reunited with your wife, and for that I know
: you are once again content.
