As always, thanks for listening and for your kind comments, Roy. Listeners like you make it all worthwhile. Every year, on the Thursday closest to July 31, we present a programme totally dedicated to Jim's memory. After 20 years of broadcasting, it still never fails to bring that special feeling of nostalgia that only Jim's voice can resurrect. No matter how good other singers sound, none come within a country mile of the gentleman from Panola County. There's Jim Reeves ... and then there are the others!
Regards,
Geoff

: After listening to ''Creative Country''
: Thursday morning (Eastern time) 790 Radio
: Freemantle, when host Geoff Simons
: introduced a song by Dave Dudley, I decided
: to do a further search of Dave's career on
: the net. As Geoff mentioned on air, Dave
: actually became involved in recording, only
: after an arm injury ended his career as a
: minor professional baseball player -- sound
: familiar ?? Similary, his biggest hits and
: popularity happened in the 60's. In the 80's
: his popularity resurged when he found that
: there was a large fan base support in
: Europe, again similar to Jim's career in the
: 60's. Dave's biggest hit 'Six Days on the
: Road' which became his signature song, was
: released in 1963.Just thought this made for
: reading. By the way, Geoff closed his show
: with 'Adios Amigo' by Jim, always so much
: appreciated whenever I hear his voice on the
: radio, or in this case on the web feed.
: Thanks Geoff !!
: Forever a Fan
