After listening to ''Creative Country'' Thursday morning (Eastern time) 790 Radio Freemantle, when host Geoff Simons introduced a song by Dave Dudley, I decided to do a further search of Dave's career on the net. As Geoff mentioned on air, Dave actually became involved in recording, only after an arm injury ended his career as a minor professional baseball player -- sound familiar ?? Similary, his biggest hits and popularity happened in the 60's. In the 80's his popularity resurged when he found that there was a large fan base support in Europe, again similar to Jim's career in the 60's. Dave's biggest hit 'Six Days on the Road' which became his signature song, was released in 1963.Just thought this made for reading. By the way, Geoff closed his show with 'Adios Amigo' by Jim, always so much appreciated whenever I hear his voice on the radio, or in this case on the web feed. Thanks Geoff !!
Forever a Fan
Roy
