The music of Danny Davis and Nashville Brass has probably suffered more than that of Jim Reeves. BMG/Sony has displayed even less interest (if that is possible) in this very talented ensemble. There is only ONE (count ‘em) original Nashville Brass CD. There is another Nashville Brass CD from Curb, but these are re-recordings of past hits.
The good news is Danny Davis has reproduced ALL of his past albums to CD format and has made them available on the Nashville Brass official website (http://www.nashvillebrass.com/). Each CD is only $12.00 and shipping is FREE!
I always thought that Jim Reeves and Danny Davis would have been a very creative combination. I think the Reeves’ voice and Davis signature brass sound would have complemented each other nicely. I can’t help but think if it were possible, even an overdub with an existing Reeves’ track would be a worthy project.
