Me and the band I'm in did a show in Powderly Kentucky last night at the new Merle Travis Music Center and I finally got to meet Billy Harlan and talk about the years he worked for Jim. Billy was Jim's bass player for a few years in the late 50's. I picked his brain before and after our show and he had some great stories about Jim and other artist he worked with and knew. Billy's a nice guy and it was a pleasure chatting with him.
