I can not verify this, as it came from an inquiry I made on another forum. I hope it is correct and helps the person looking for the record.
The song you seek is a Webb Pierce song, who else, and is on his Boxed Set Webb Pierce, The Wondering Boy most likely available thuu the Ernest Tubb Record Shop and also Collector's Choice Music, www.ccmusic.com. The Song Title is ENGLISH SWEETHEART.

: I received the following email from a young
: lady who is trying to locate a song for her
: grandfather. It is not a Jim Reeves song,
: but was on an album that apparently also
: included a Reeves tune. Does anyone
: recognize the lyrics? See below. -- Julie

: My grandpa is in his late 80's, and he has
: been talking about an album he had in the
: sixties (he thinks) there was one song on
: there that had the line "an American
: boy met an English girl from far across the
: sea, they laughed and loved and lived each
: day, their hearts were filled with
: glee". This isn't a Jim Reeves song,
: but there was a Jim Deeves song on the
: album, he believes it was "Distant
: Drums," but we're not sure. I've done
: lyric searches, and read every discography i
: could find, but nothing so far... My only
: hope is someone knows that song and can tell
: me what it is. Please help if you can!
:
: Although he's in pretty good health I'm
: afraid I won't have him around for much
: longer. Someone stole the record from him in
: the early 70's and he's said many times how
: he'd love to hear that song just one more
: time. If there is anyway you can help me, or
: forward this to someone who can I'd really
: appreciate it.
:
: Thank you,
