Hi All,
At Middlesbrough in North-East England, about 11 miles from where I live in Hartlepool. They have erected a large Christmas tree of Remembrance.
Of course the tree is mostly for family members who have lost their nearest and dearest loved ones. But i thought I would stop by and place a little card on For Jim, whom of course I never knew personally, but who's death left a very large hole in mine and everyone elses heart.
Upon placing my card on the tree, I noticed there were cards for various other singers such as Roy Orbison, Sam Cooke and our UK singers Adam Faith and Billy Fury. I found another card for Jim, and added my own,with these lines;
"Without you this Christmas Jim,
it is hard to Bare,
To see all the singers on TV,
wishing us a Merry Christmas,
What we would give to see you there"
"As I place this borble upon the tree,
I though I heard the sound of you singing "Silver bells",
very softly and briefly"
"Pardon me if a tear should fall,
my parents remembering that first Christmas,
after you answered God's Loving call"
"Happy Christmas Jim & Mary,
wherever you are,
we will remember you
from near and far"
Happy Holidays everyone
GARRY
