Posted by John Walker I do believe that many people have attempted to actually locate the exact point of impact and perhaps Larry could confim this, but very few people have actually got it right. For some reason or other the crash site is not actually where a lot of people believe it to be. John.

To the best of my knowlege, the crash site is located in something in an inaccessible spot and furthermore it is on private property. I doubt very much if the current owners would take kindly to fans traipsing through their backyard without their permission. As far as placing a memorial marker well from what Larry has told us the actual spot is too far away from the public roads to make any memorial marker to be of any validity.
There has been a lot of heated debate over this subject in the past as i'm sure Larry will attest to. I for one have got no desire to go raking over old coals as it were, but perhaps it would be better to remember Jim for what he acheived in his lifetime and the pleasure he gave to millions with that beautiful baritone voice of his that really could not displease anyone.
