It has got me wondering if over time the source tape will degrade perhaps to the point that the master tapes will no longer be usable and the legacy Jim left behind will be lost. It's just a thought i know but do you happen to have any ideas i'm sure the same thing must apply to other stars of yesteryear not and only Jim. John.

Hi Tony,
Many thanks for the insight as to what went on with the Jim and Patsy duets i really did not know that there was a potential third song in the works, now that is something new i must say.
I wonder if magnetic tape does degrade over time anyway, and if so is anything being done to preserve the material that Jim has left us with.
