Witchcraft (which for the record is a religion!) had just been made legal and his writings based on his covern experiances and readings and this tradition he termed Wicca. His book of shadows (a term I think, but don't quote me, he invented) if you take the time to read it may contain some fractions of older work but has manily been written to sound very old even his lose followers admit it fools do one (In the Witches Bible by the Farreris).
