Thank you so much JoAnn. She is hanging in there by the hardest. She had never been known to have heart problems , even at 96 , but as soon as they started the spinal anesthesia to do the hip surgery , her pulse rate soared to 160 per MINUTE. 2 Days later they had to give her a pacemaker in order to do surgery. She did okay during the surgery but has had sooooooo many setbacks heartwise since and is still bedridden. It has been terribly hard seeing her suffer this way .... just breaks our hearts. She is the most caring , giving person. I can clearly see why in nursing school we were taught that breaking a hip can be the most devastating thing that can happen to the elderly. It has broken her entire system down.
