Then again, the battle itelf wasnīt meant to determine a victor, but mostly to allow Shadow to have his revenge, which he had eventually. Prime never took the battle very serious, it was more like training to him, as he stated himself, or actually a way to get his wings whipped by shadow, in order for them not to get at eachothers throats again. He didnīt have any intension of engaging in hostilisies again, after the final blow. He felt like he deserved it anyway, as compensation for the flaming earleir. That is, as far as I could enterpret things. Perhaps you were right though.
