Posted by Ben And, frankly, I think I would have to agree with it. HOWEVER, my post IS NOT about the STYLE of the game...but I do have a few quirks I would like to address. Firstly, most of the fanbase of Spyro the Dragon happens to be among the upper teens, as well as the lower-to-middle 20s. I would like to see a bit more maturity in the games though. I mean, when is Spyro finally gonna get a girl? I mean, he's had several suitable bachlorettes, but....*trails off* Secondly, I would like to see a bit more darkness in the games. While I am all for a happy scene, I wouldn't mind it if there was at least one tear-jerking tragedy (and I'm not talking Disney-style where said person comes back to life and all is well and happy-pappy once again. I mean somethin' something devastatingly dramatic--say aforementioned girl getting brutally shot to pieces, though we keep stuff like this to a bare minimum). Also, I e-mailed Night Owl on this particular subject, but I also some feedback on this particular idea. Keep this in mind, I am not tossing out my own idea for a video game. Typically, the Spyro games as of now are mostly platform-based action, and I'm wondering how many people would feel if the currently developers of the Spyro games were to make another game that was based more on a decision-making style rather than platform. Simply put, how would you feel if you saw a Spyro RPG? I'm thinking that would be interesting, Spyro alongside his pals in a turn-based (or real time) system, preferrably along the lines of Kingdom Hearts, if not Final Fantasy. OR, if NOT an RPG style, then more along the lines of a STRATEGY based game combined with platform action, e.g. the Dynasty Warriors series. I also have an idea for a Spyro game....but mine really isn't more of a Spyro game...to try and make myself clear, the main character (e.g. the character you play as) IS NOT Spyro, but another person altogether. Before you assault me with the fact that a new main character would defeat the purpose of the game, this is my idea: Basically, my idea of a basic plot is that is that the twist here is Spyro is not the hero, but he's actually the main villain you're supposed to defeat. Somewhere along down the lines he's snapped, gone over the deep end, and has become for all intents and purposes, criminally insane and that the new hero(ine) must stop him. It's KIND OF borrowing an idea from MegaMan Zero 1...where Zero (not MegaMan X) is the main character and he has to fight through the game to defeat the final villian, who happens to be MegaMan X himself. However, "X" is not the "X" that Zero knows, but merely just a copy (a doppleganger, if you will). Though, my idea of having Spyro as the villian wouldn't be somebody trying to frame him, or merely just a robotic or clone copy. My idea is that Spyro as a villian is actually THE Spyro you played as all the way from Spyro 1 to the GBA games to A Hero's Tail. The instance that Spyro went nutters could be due to a series of dramatic effects in his life (which is where the uber-tear-jerkin'-drama scenes could take place) which you must change via Night Owl's "time travel" idea. Due to the time travel, areas that seem old can be new depending on how far forward or backward the main character travels in time. For example, the Dragon Kingdoms are just as they are in Spyro 1 in the Present....whereas in the Future they could be completely changed into an environment not unlike Jak II or Ratchet & Clank. This is just MY insight though. If anybody else has any views, I would like to hear them! ^_^ --Ben

I was just skimming the board and looking up some old scrolls, right? Well, I came across Night Owl's post about his idea for a video game...
