Posted by Nite Owl I'm just as excited about Hero's Tail as much as everyone else, but I feel a little like it's all just one big rehashment of the previous games. The very first time I played Spyro, the thing that impressed me most was the game's capacity to make me imagine a whole new living world. Now, 5 years later, Spyro's still doing the exact same thing. It's like his universe has been flash-frozen. So, for any Spyro programmmer who just happens to wander through here, I want to post my game idea, one that would reinvigorate the Spyroverse and bring it into a new century. First of all, age Spyro. Namely, allow him to walk on two legs like every other single dragon we've seen in the Dragon Kingdoms. Second, build on the previous games. Namely, give him the straight-glide ability that rocked so much in Gnasty's Loot. Give him permanent fireball breath, just weaken it a bit so that it's not a game breaker. Now, for the game itself: Question: What do people like Question: What else do people like? Managerial Implications So, here's the deal: I don't care what the plot is, just do something with time travel. Preferrably, let players go back and forth between times, gaining and losing abilities, like in Ocarina of Time. Also, set it in the original Dragon Kingdom. Satisfy the yearnings I got when I played the first game: "What lies at the Roots of the Tree Tops?" "What lies beyond the forcefields of Stone Hill and Cliff Town? "What lies on the Outskirts of Town Square?" "What lies in the Forests of Dark Hollow?" Double, or even triple level size, and bring more detail. On the Beast Makers homeworld, there was some sort of water-tower thing off in the distance, along with the sounds of all sorts of creatures. Let gamers explore these frontiers. You can still change the levels enough that even old levels seem new; for example, half-sink Toasty's level, and let gamers race across the lava-covered platforms; let gamers race floating chariots against ghostly knights and horses in Haunted Towers. This is my petition. This is what I need. Thank you.

...that they have the greatest idea for a video game. But just hear mine out.
Answer: Time-Travel
Evidence: the successes of The Time Machine, The Terminator, Back to the Future, Ocarina of Time, etc.
Conclusion: Spyro needs time travel. The addition of this aspect would greatly increase the "magic factor" of a Spyro game.
Answer: Extensions of old material.
Evidence: the successes of (all DVDs), Metroid: Zero Mission, Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen, etc.
Conclusion: The original Spyro kingdom needs revisting and revamping.
