Ballards/Adams Ryde, IOW

I'm searching for my family on the island. I can find them in the States when they moved here in 1890 or so, but have had little luck locating them on the island. I found one census mention in 1881, the year of my great-grandfather's birth, but before or after, nothing.
What I know:
Harry Evelyn Ballard married Bertha Adams and together they had 13 or so children. Only 6 or 7 were born on the IOW, the rest were born in Bayridge, NY.
