I am on a long shot request. An ancestor of mine was born in England but where????
John Setterington b. 17 (approx) Apr 1817 to John Shallum Setterington and Elizabeth (Alice) Burbridge. John, the father, was a horse trainer/ docker by trade and took his family to Canada in approx. 1822. Two other children were born in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with the parents marrying in Northamptonshire/ Rutland.
In a Canadian census, John Jr. has noted his place of birth as Isle of Wight???
Is there a possibility you may find this person and confirm his place and date of birth as on the isle?
