David Podbransky - I am actually replying for a good friend Kevin Podd - whose great grandfather was Joseph Podbransky - born in 1858 in Russia and married Dora in 1878 - they lived in England around 1885 to 1889-90 - where 4 children were born and then they immigrated to New York where 4 additional children were born - Moishe/Morris who later went by the name Murray Podd was the grandfather of my friend Kevin and his siblings.
It is possible that the origin is Lithuanian - because at one time the Jews lived in "Poland and the the Kingdom of Lithuania" before it became part of the Russian Empire.
It is also possible that Jospeh Podbransky had family in England (at the end of the 20th century because he lived there a good bit of time) and may be rrelated to you and other Podbransky's still alive???? Is there any family story about such Podbransky's living there and then moving to the USA???
