Help me find my horses...
Last year a friend of mine ran into to medical and financial problems and gave six horses to a rescue called Cajun Country Ranch out of Wilburton Oklahoma. This now approved 501(c) rescue took in the six horses. At the time they weren't a 501 but still called themselves a rescue which apparently the government never checks on. Three of the horse are mine and I have the paperwork to prove it. I am trying to find out what legal means I have to get them back as I asked AnneMarie Duhon about them and she wouldn't tell me anything except they were adopted out. I have found the one named Mocha who is with a nice family and will stay with them. But the other two Java a 2year old buckskin filly and Indie a half andalusion gelding I have no word. If anybody has any information regarding these two horses that would be great. The rescue (?) has stonewalled me the whole time with the questions I have asked. My friend Marie was given care of the horses and while her husband was sick you may have heard about the story as she was head of the Falcon's haven for wayward Horses which was a 501 also, gave the horses to Cajun Country Ranch. With that being said they were not rescue horses she took in they were for her family to care for but not own. So signing them over to another rescue without notifying me was wrong but that doesn't change the fact that the horses belong to me. Also all this went down just after I deployed to Afghanistan and am currently still here trying to find this out all from long distance. Does anybody know if this falls under the Sailor and Soldier Relief Act or does that only pertain to legal action against the soldier. Thanks
P.S. Also look at the Fugly horse blog under their name it kind of scared me about what was posted.
