Posted by Ed Fox on 4/4/2007, 10:53 pm I have just found out that there is a horse rescue emergency in Nebraska that I'm asking for help for. There are 23 horses remaining in a field here in Nebraska that will go to slaughter unless local rescue organizations can raise $7500 by Easter Sunday. After that they will need much more money to care for those 23 horses and the 20 plus that they have already rescued. Fortunately this has been getting local coverage, so there may be money coming in here, but they certainly need help from other horse lovers around the country. I have linked three stories from my local paper, the Lincoln Journal-Star, about the situation and also provided a link to one of the rescue organization's website, where they have pictures of some of the horses waiting to be rescued. Unfortunately they missed their opportunity to rescue 200+ that have already been taken away, but we can hopefully save a few now. These are horses who have someone to rescue them and just need the funds. Any dollars would help, as would passing this information on if you can't donate yourself. http://journalstar.com/articles/2007/03/21/news/nebraska/doc460159f859352514704071.txt http://journalstar.com/articles/2007/03/29/news/nebraska/doc460bc7758f44a158653047.txt http://journalstar.com/articles/2007/03/31/news/local/doc460dc157cb5e1859693384.txt

I hope that this is deemed an appropriate forum for this post, but I want to get maximum coverage if I can.
