Posted by Pam Vania I am looking for a few select riders to offer a lease for a few wonderful, precious backyard trail horses. Up to $75/mth. Horses stay on my farm. They are like my children and I will be very selective. Not trying to scare any one off.. I really am a very lay back person just protective. Must be confident, kind riders with commitment. Long term leases. Here is what we have: Dilly - heinz 57 special, Gelding, 14.2 -14.3h ,6-7yrs, liver chestnut, pretty easy to ride, will test to see if he can get away with anything(ex: eating grass on trails , stop, or turn around) I have taken him out double on trails with my 5yr old on a pony saddle in front of me and Dilly does very well. Would prefer to just browse the trails. Traffic safe, but does not like Motorcycles very much. Destiny - arab/saddlebred, 14.1h, 14yrs, mare, is forward, easy to control, quiet rider required, can get hot if let. Does well at walk and trot but can get carried away if not controled at a canter... not aways. Goes through anything, just point and she goes. Traffic safe. Is currently in foal for a April 07 foal. We ride her quietly on trails and she really misses if we don't ride her. Champ - standardbred/appy(solid bay) - 15.2h , 4yr in jan 07, Gelding, has been lunged, ground driven, sat on and walked around and progressing, very responsive. Layed back temperment, easy going, smart. Lack of time prevents constant training (I am in college classes) but he retains all the info he is giving, willing and kind temperment. Would be willing to show the right person how to continue his training. Could do plenty if taught. Nicely put together. Digger - sadlebred/morgan, 15.3h , 14yrs, gelding, black and white, beautifully marked. This guy is such a kind hearted fellow, is so willing to please. He needs a speical kind of person .. someone that is slow, patient and understanding. We just recieved him 6/06, and he has come a long way. Does not have any formal training, just started to lunging him fully tacked up and getting him to accept bit in mouth, has been sat on. Is fast learner. Can be very nervous, but calms very quickly. Have been told that he has been trail ridden as just a follower, never using a bit or any commands. So we are starting from the begining. Doc - what can we say about Doc.. wonderful older gentleman that has no idea he is 27yrs old. He is suppose to be arab/morgan/quarter horse blend. 14h. Does ride but would need a very LIGHT rider. He LOVES the trails. As I said he has no idea he is 27yr. Ask more for him. All cross tied well and LOVE to be groomed, stand for hours to be groomed, lead well and all come up to you in the pastures(Destiny sometime has a bad day)Boys can't get enough of people.. in your pocket, want to stay with you always. Tack avail. Western and english saddles and all bridles avail for each horse. They all deserve wonderful partners and we would like to share these special guys with someone that would really enjoy them and commit to them. Oh most important.. location: Ash Acres Farm Just southwest Rochester, 10 mins from Brockport. If interested email or phone me at: ashacresfarm@yahoo.com or 585-638-0418(9a -9p)ask for Pam. Look forward to speaking with you. Kindest Regards, Pam Vania
